Allergy holistic solutionNAETNambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Treatment, is a treatment regimen developed by Devi S. Nambudripad is a non-invasive, drug free, natural solution to eliminate allergies of all types and intensities using a blend of selective energy balancing, testing and treatment procedures from acupuncture/acupressure, allopathy, chiropractic, nutritional, and kinesiological disciplines of medicine.

NAET ( pronounced “Nate”) is the acronym for Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Techinique. Created by Dr. Devi Nambudripad, NAET is a unique, effective way of testing for and eliminating allergic reactions to food, environmental and chemical allergies.  Dr. Nambudripad, a licensed acupuncturist, chiropractor and registered nurse developed this unique, revolutionary treatment protocol in 1983 in response to her own severe, allergy problems.  NAET is a non-invasive, natural allergy elimination treatment protocol that uses no drugs, no allergy shots, and no long-term elimination or avoidance diets.

How Does NAET Work?

NAET is a revolutionary treatment system based on the principles of Chiropractic, Acupuncture, and Applied Kinesiology (Muscle Response Testing). In Western medicine, allergies are seen as an overreaction of the immune system. In NAET, an allergy is viewed as an allergic substance which has an adverse effect on the energy flow of the body, causing blockages, disrupting the normal flow of natural energy or “qi” (pronounced “chee”) through the body’s electrical circuits or meridians. NAET uses acupressure along the spine and other points on the lower and upper limbs to remove the blockages and alter the patient’s response to the allergen. The patient is no longer allergic to the allergen and symptoms disappear.

What is the first treatment like?

The first treatment will consist of the initial intake exam and the Brain, Body Functioning (BBF) treatment. This first treatment clears any blockages or obstructions to allow energy to flow from the brain, through the organs, energy pathways (meridians) and back to the brain. This balances the body.

The patient will be asked to hold an allergen vial in one hand while acupressure is administered to the spine, and points on the arms, hands, legs and feet. The patient relaxes and holds the allergen vial for another 15-20 minutes. Except for the first treatment, the patient must avoid the treated allergen for 25 hours after treatment to complete the treatment cycle.

How many treatments will I need?

No two patients have the same allergy profile. The number of appointments needed depends on:

  • The number of allergies the patient may have
  • The overall severity of the allergic condition
  • The strength of the person’s immune system and response to the treatments.

Typically, one allergen is treated at a time. This is not only because your body is actively focused on the one allergen, but also because it would be difficult for your body to go through this procedure with multiple allergens simultaneously. If you are not severely immune deficient, you may need just one treatment to desensitize one allergen. A patient with a few allergies will need a few treatments, one with many allergies will need more.

Is there a specific order that is followed in treating allergens?

Yes. Food items are checked and cleared first. There is a list of foods called the basics. Approximately 15 foods must be evaluated. Most people are sensitive/allergic to only some of the basics. By clearing foods first we strengthen the immune system, improving digestion and absorption. This allows your body to get the necessary nutrients that are essential when undergoing the subsequent treatments.

Can children be treated?

When a baby or small child is being treated a surrogate will be used, typically the parent. Children who have been treated typically find the procedures fun and pain free.
